Description
The popular Sky-Watcher SolarQuest mount is an awesome little sun tracking mount that works perfectly with many solar telescopes, but some telescopes like the Coronado PST would end up mounted sideways on the saddle, making the eyepiece difficult to reach. Other L-brackets for alt-azimuth mounts require the mount saddle to be perpendicular to the direction the scope is pointing, which does not work for the SolarQuest because of the sun tracking sensor.
Our L-bracket allows a telescope to be mounted “right side up” and with the saddle pointed along the optical axis so the sun tracker can function. The L-bracket is adjustable in both height and distance from the mount to achieve balance and easy access to the scope. Made from anodized aluminum, it features a captive 1/4-20 screw with D-ring for easy mounting.
